Good job, I resurrected an old D500 dump myself several years ago. You might find that all the rubber flexible brake lines and the one for the clutch line will have to be replaced as they swell up inside choking off all the fluid flow. Anyway, good luck, I have a few videos of it on my site if interested. 👍

It's just something about the old cars made in the U.S. that makes them stand out, and it's the fact that they show off the car brand all over the car and show off the styling with pride, even things such as casted metal parts saying 'Made in USA' makes it sound authentic, something that the newer cars don't really show nowadays.

Apparently no one has mentioned that you are not supposed to wrap your thumb around the starter crank. You get a back fire it'll break your thumb. Put your thumb parallel to the crank handle. That way a back fire will just kick your hand off the crank without a broken thumb.

I would leave the old oil filter on to help prevent dry start. Or at least fill up the new filter. I know a lot would be lost if you fill up the new filter since this is a side mount, but it's better than no oil in the filter.

I have a 1928 10-20 tractor very similar to this one in the video. The engine turns over when engaging the hand crank. It was last used in October of 1965 for running a silage blower for filling our silo. After it was done for the year, it was driven into our machine shed and parked, where it has remained ever since. Someday, I hope to get it running again just to bring back old memories.

Just saw your video. Nice! Those early A904 automatic transmissions were 'adequate' for what they were, they were quite a bit better in the 80's, especially the A998/A999 versions of these transmissions. Unfortunately the A998/A999's were typically behind the 318's in the Dodge Diplomats and Plymouths Gran Fury's of that time (M-bodies) As well as the Magnum V6's in the early Dakotas. So you simply cannot bolt one up behind a slant six unfortunately. The 1st and 2nd gear ratios in the A999/A998 & A904T (post 1980) were different as well as them being lock-up. (1st=2.45, 2nd=1.45, 3rd=1.0 vs. 1st=2.74, 2nd=1.54, 3rd=1.0). Now if you really want to keep the slant 6 you can see if you can find a 1980's Mopar with those transmission and piece em' out to get the better 1st/2nd gear ratios? Sorry just ramblin', just happy to see another person getting these cars on the road, I'm excited to see what you'll be doing with this. I own a 1974 Plymouth Duster restomod daily driver that I've been driving and working on. Mine has a roller-cammed 360 from 1991 Dodge ram with 10.2 compression and an A999 from a 1988 Diplomat that is modified with a stage 2 shift kit, Kolene steels and Red Eagle clutches.

I used to put masking tapeover on any sharp edge, then buff away, no way of burning through if areas covered!

Instead of plugging holes with rags, use gafa tape over holes. You dont want to get any blasting material inside the engine, not even 1 bit.😊
